2023 Stanford White Plaza Korean Cultural Event
On April 22, Hansamo performed at Stanford White Plaza Stage.
This event has another meaning in that it is the first Korean cultural event hosted by the Stanford Korean Student Association. Following the grand opening of the Nanta and flag dances, the Hansamo performance team performed SeolJang-gu, Lion Mask Dance, and colorful Samgomu, drawing applause from the audience. Finally, on the Pangut stage, the Pungmul team's exciting dance, beona spinning and twelve-foot long sangmo spinning were performed, giving the audience an exciting time to become one.
After the performance, Hansamo students held a workshop for Stanford students to experience traditional Korean musical instruments. After students introduced their instruments that they showed at the performance and explained how to play them, college students actually tried playing them. It was a meaningful time to enhance understanding of Korean traditional instruments and raise interest in Korean culture through the experience of touching and playing various instruments for the first time.
It was a moment to stand on another stage where Hansamo students, who have been promoting Korean culture in the Bay Area for a long time, could show their continued efforts and passion for spreading the Korean language.
